Data Protocol is a fast-growing, venture-backed education technology company based in downtown Charleston, South Carolina. We are transforming the way software developers build apps and products by doing two things:

1) we produce courses that are high-quality, propulsive, and engaging and

2) we deliver these courses in a proprietary learning environment that reflects how developers want to learn.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

As our VP of Product, you’ll be pivotal in helping shape the Data Protocol platform. We are building a better way to educate developers and that starts with the technical foundations to bring that experience to life. You will guide the engineering team to strengthen our current platform as we continue to build new products for our growing list of Fortune 100 clients. You have to love developers if you want to build for developer’s education and growth; we expect you to put your heart and soul into this because you are both creator and consumer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the Product Team in coordination with the Chief Experience Officer

• Guide our software engineers as they increase the performance of our platform and in the creation of new functionalities and products (like Labs)

• Work with the Chief of Staff to maximize cross-pod interaction and communication

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proof that you’ve got experience turning a complicated idea into an attention-grabbing story.

• An ability to speak your mind boldly and to accept consensus decisions affirmatively.

• Demonstrated ability to develop strong consultative relationships with external partners and internal cross-functional teams at all levels

• Excellent time management/prioritization skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Experience working in an agile, fast-paced environment

• Experience in Database technologies (MySQL)

• Experience designing and implementing Platform Services (User Services, Analytics, Services, etc.)

• Excellent time management/prioritization skills

• Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project

• Experience with mission critical, 24x7 systems

• Familiar with Infrastructure and Data Security best practices

• Familiar with DevOps practices and workflows

• Experience implementing monitoring and alerts on critical infrastructure
